I’m giving a talk at Mt. St Mary’s College in LA on April 21st for the “Power of Hip-Hop” course. Sneak peek at part of my PowerPoint presentation. I’ll talk about seeing the early 2000s dance industry in North Hollywood, the pre-YouTube street dance scene before 2005, how Ed “Emo” Moore & Swoop introduced me to freestyle dancers, Millenium Dance Complex when it was still called Morolandis, and how advances in digital video technology lead to my producing dance competitions and eventually to my film Furious Beauty. Upcoming Screening: Furious Beauty

Sunday, April 21, 2013.  I’m giving a talk at the “Power of Hip Hop” class at Mt. Saint Mary’s College in Los Angeles.  There will be a screening of a portion of my film Furious Beauty along with performances by Versa-Style Next Generation and freestyle dancers from Homeland Cultural Center.  I’m looking forward to sharing more about how these different groups are interconnected with my own journey as a dancer and filmmaker.

I’m working as a cinematographer for the new Versa-Style Dance Company video project tomorrow at this studio Six 01 in Los Angeles (see a video of the studio space above from their website).  More behind-the-scenes pics coming soon.  It’s been a pleasure working with this company since we completed our film Furious Beauty together.

KOD (Keep on Dancing) USA 2013 popping finals.  My friend Leigh “Breeze-Lee” Foaad from Versa-Style competes here with Jsmooth, Jordan, & Sweepy from Control Posse against an all-star team from Japan including Gucchon, Kei, Maccho, & Yuki.
